The Yoga of Sound

The Yoga of Sound is a compilation of mantras and music performed by Mata Mandir Singh & Friends. The origins of these mantras and sounds reach back over 5,000 years to the Himalayan caves of what we now call India, Tibet, Nepal and Pakistan. These mantras have been passed down through a golden chain of teachers to the present day via a technology known as Naad Yoga - Naad Yoga is the study of how sound affects the human consciousness. Different mantras have various powers and effects contained in the atomic stucture of their sound. Through chanting mantra, the mind can focus and penetrate through the barriers of subconcious blocks and experience infinity. This gives freedom of action without the influence of neurouses and fear.

Mata Mandir Singh and many of the musicians and singers that have performed on these CDs are long-time students of Yogi Bhajan who is a master of Kundalini Yoga and Naad Yoga. The teachings contained in these CDs are part of a vast body of yogic knowledge brought to the western world by him. It is through his tireless dedication and selflessness as a teacher and compassion as a human that so many have the opportunity to practice these teachings today.
