The site was originally created using a framed environment with inline CSS. We’ve taken the original design, removed it from its framed environment and opened it up a bit in order to take advantage of what we think was the intent of the original design. We utilized a CSS stylesheet instead of inline CSS and JavaScript with JQuery to enhance the site’s use of JavaScript. The Dutch and English versions have been better integrated for both SEO purposes and hopefully a more seamless integration for the two languages.

Freecording is simply a way of getting more from your camcorder. It’s inventing angles and shooting the world around you in a different way – your way. Canon’s Freecording site is a venue that features Canon equipment being used to demostrate a variety of video tricks and techniques used by professionals and amateurs. The site also offers a gallery linked with Canon’s Flickr Freecording group where amateur videos are selected to appear on the Freecording site.
The site was built with PHP 5 and MySQL 4 on the back-end; HTML, CSS, JavaScript and Flash on the front-end and implemented API’s provided by Flickr, YouTube and Vimeo in order to integrate videos selected by Canon from any of these video platforms.
